Terms of use

LIMINAL FM is an independent project based in San Diego, California.

1. Agreeing to these terms

By joining the waitlist or using LIMINAL FM at liminalfm.tech (the “service”), you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU and UK unless a parent consents), and old enough to use Spotify where you live if you connect it. LIMINAL FM is not offered in Israel; visitors there see a notice instead of the service.

3. An early pilot

LIMINAL FM is in an early pilot. Features may change, pause or go away, access may be limited to a small group, and things may occasionally break. The public demo is a preview: its buttons don’t do anything and its sample songs are made up.

4. Your account

Keep your sign-in email secure; you’re responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your data at any time from the app.

5. Music, Spotify and artists

We don’t host or stream music. Songs, artwork and artist names belong to their owners and are shown to help you find and listen to them on Spotify. When you connect Spotify, you also agree to Spotify’s terms. LIMINAL FM is not affiliated with or endorsed by Spotify.

6. What you share

Dedications, display names and anything else you add stay yours. You give us permission to show them where you chose to share them, such as on a trade or a receipt. Don’t share anything you don’t have the right to share.

7. Be kind

Follow our community guidelines. Don’t harass anyone, post hateful or illegal content, impersonate others, spam, scrape the service, get around rate limits or access controls, or try to break or reverse-engineer it. We may suspend access that puts others or the service at risk.

8. Our brand

The LIMINAL FM name, the Threshold mark and the site’s design are ours. Please don’t use them in a way that suggests we endorse you. Sharing your receipts and linking to us is always welcome.

9. No warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We can’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or that every song will suit you.

10. Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, LIMINAL FM won’t be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (for the free pilot, that’s zero). Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be waived.

11. Ending things

You can stop using LIMINAL FM and delete your data at any time. We may end or change the service; if we shut it down, we’ll give reasonable notice where we can.

12. If we disagree

Most problems can be solved with a conversation, so please email us first and give us 30 days to try to fix it. If we can’t, these terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court. If you live outside the United States, you keep any protections your local consumer law gives you.

13. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a meaningful way, we’ll update the date above and let you know before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
